About Us

Where Knowledge, Movement, and Care Unite

Discover how clinical insight, somatic integration, and compassionate guidance combine to prepare you for hospital birth.  Elevate your confidence, prepare your mind, and connect to your body so that you are able to welcome your baby in full glory.

Remember this, for it is as true and true gets: Your body is not a lemon. You are not a machine. The Creator is not a careless mechanic. Human female bodies have the same potential to give birth well as aardvarks, lions, rhinoceri, elephants, moose, and water buffalo. Even if it has not been your habit throughout your life so far, I recommend that you learn to think positively about your body” -Ina May Gaskin

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to empower families with a depth of understanding of the mind-body nature of labor, as well as providing practical hospital education. We will nurture confident births and respectful collaboration; while advancing evidence‑informed care that truly honors autonomy, consent, and the sacredness of bringing forth new life.

Our vision is that every mother preparing for delivery has the resources needed to prepare her mind, body, and spirit for labor; and also has the information needed to communicate her desires effectively to her birth team.

What We Do

We provide somatic movement preparation, education on the mind-body nature of labor, interventions that may be encountered in the hospital (and why they may or may not be necessary), and birth plan creation support.  We blend clinical knowledge with holistic guidance so families feel informed, confident, and ready to collaborate with their care team throughout labor.

Our Approach

An evidence‑informed, culturally humble approach that centers the mind-body relationship of physiologic labor and birth.  We value consent, clarity, and teamwork. We integrate somatic movement with practical hospital navigation so that you can align choices with values while honoring safety and the expertise of your hospital care team.

Our Core Values

  • We take courage in every moment.
  • Evidence guides everything.
  • We champion informed decision‑making, consent, and mutual collaboration
  • We value the natural intelligence of the body and want to promote it’s ability as much as possible; while still honoring that each birth is different and each birth has the potential to be beautiful and empowering.
  • We prioritize both safety and your experience – so each family experiences dignity, confidence, and connection throughout birth; ultimately leading to an overflow of joy.

University professor of women’s health meets doula wisdom, somatic movement, and hospital expertise—our services specialize in supporting families planning hospital births who want to experience the sacredness of labor.

We believe that clear communication and teamwork matter. Through somatic mind‑body preparation, you’ll explore gentle movement that releases tension, builds mobility, and invites confidence by reconnecting your body with your mind’s calm center.

Our evidence‑informed education demystifies physiology of labor, helping you to maximize your own body’s potential.  Our courses also prioritize discussing hospital-based options while explaining how hospital systems function—so you can advocate effectively and partner respectfully with your team.

During private birth plan sessions, we listen carefully, clarify values and preferences, and translate them into hospital‑ready language that signals knowledge, collaboration, and flexibility. We welcome all families and honor your unique story, preferences, and safety.  We hope that these services can bless you and your birth experience.

Somatic Classes

Guided somatic movement classes build mobility and pelvic floor strength, release fear, and synchronize mind with body, preparing you for effective, grounded, confident labor.

Courageous Birth Intensives

Evidence-informed courses explain physiology of labor and birth, choices, interventions, consent, and comfort measures—especially for hospital births—so you can advocate, collaborate well, and feel empowered throughout labor.

Plan Creation

One-on-one call assesses values, goals, and preferences; together we craft hospital-ready language communicating teamwork, consent, comfort measures, and desired interventions.
